Fog on the high way

Photography really isn't something as productive as manufacturing (except the fast passport photo service). Photographer's mind is the key. Whatever photographer can imagine and visualize.he or she probably can show this on his or her photograph.
Why do I write the above? Actually it is just a better-looking excuse of me not being able to update any new photographs recently..
But I need still put something otherwise people think this site is down~

Okay, this is an past photograph. I was on highway and it was very foggy then suddenly the sun come out. I took the shot at that moment. This happened in a very short moment.I did not have the time to really think and compose the shot. Usually this kind of photography can turn out to be bad and good. I was lucky to take an good shot. I uploaded this photo on a photography community website, and it got highlight to the weekly best photo section.

New to LX3

As a tool for photographers to create visual art from reality, camera has to be completely tamed and mastered in order to capture superb images.
I still dont' have the feeling of this LX3. I guess I just need to use it more.

A Corner of Track

I have been playing with my new toy LX3 for a while. I should say I am quite satisfied with its performance.

LX3 is able to store RAW file, but it seems to be a different format from what used to use. I have to use the provided software SilkyPix to edit and compress to jpeg. It seems that SilkyPix eats lots of memory space. When I run the software, my pc slow down dramatically. I wish I could use Photoshop to deal with this RAW file...Or maybe I should just use jpeg format.

Lumix LX3 is arrived!

Finally, after 1 month waiting, I got my Panasonic Lumix LX3. It seems that this camera is short on supply in Canada..
But anyway now I got it! I like it a lot, and it is better than I thought when I really see it in reality.

After giving away my Fujifilm Finepix F31fd, I didn't have any portable camera that is easy to bring around and take pictures. EOS 5D is a good camera, but it is just too big to bring everyday, and also after last time I dropped my EF35mm f/2.0 lens, I feel I have to always take extra care on the DSLR camera, and that makes everyday photography awkward. Now I can bring my LX3 with me everyday everywhere.

This is a fantastic camera as I reading the review of it. Some of the amazing features are the 24mm wide angel, premium Leica lens, huge and hi-res display, focus tracking system, and good high ISO performance. I have taken some shots with it, and I will upload more pictures later on.

Happy New Year!!

I am sorry for the absence since the Christmas.
I had a one-week trip with some friends, and I couldn't get hooked with internet all the time, so I decided to just forget about the blogging and enjoy the trip completely.
We first went to Vancouver for the new year, and then we headed to a small town called Cranbrook as one of my friends has invited to an internship opportunity to there.

The new year eve wasn't so romantic at all. Me and some friends spent the night in airport to welcome some other friends. They were supposed to arrive on 29th of DEC, but the snow storm stop them from flying, so they had to take plane on 31th night. When they arrived, the it was new year already. There were no counting down, no cheering, no fireworks...only the few people in airport, although we tried to create some atmosphere while waiting for the arrivals, sort of... The good thing is we celebrated the new year on the next day by shopping and ordering some rare and expensive seafood in a Chinese restaurant to compliment the feeling of down.

After the new year is celebrated, 3 of people including me were heading to Cranbrook which is a small town in far south east of BC. It took a sick 16 hours drive for us to get there thanks to the bad ice and snow on the highway. When we get there we realized that we crossed a 1 hour time zone, and that means we have crossed the earth by 15 degree longitude...

The friend who is going to have intern there is a girl. I really admire her courage to come here work for 4 month. It is really a town that doesn't have anything... Although she might be brave enough to make this decision, it wouldn't be easy to get used to this. Me and the other friend tried to help her settling and familiarize the place. After 2 nights in Cranbrook, 2 of us were leaving. She is on her own from now without all the friends. I still remembered her a-little-bit-sad-and-upset face when 2 of us were leaving her apartment. Wish her can make new friends and get used to the town and do well for the work...

When we headed back from Cranbrook, it only took 7 hours on the road as the highway is a better one, and the road condition was superb! Thaz about it.
